Admission Process For UG & PG

Admission in UG & PG courses such as B.com, B.A. ,M.A. and M.Com in Government and Private colleges of Madhya Pradesh is regulated by the Higher Education Department, Government of MP. Admission is conducted through an online counseling process via the MP Higher Education Portal (epravesh.mponline.gov.in) based on merit in the qualifying examination.

STEP 1 – Online Registration for Admission

Login to the MP Higher Education Portal (https://epravesh.mponline.gov.in). Select your course and click ‘Apply for Counseling’. Fill out the registration form with academic details, personal information, and upload required documents (mark sheets, photo, signature, etc.).

Document Verification will be done online on the MP portal. Confirmation status will appear in the ‘Check Candidate Status’ section within a couple of days. If there is any discrepancy, visit the nearby help center. A list of help centers is available on the portal.

Candidates must fill out and submit their choices for preferred colleges and courses. Lock your final preference list and submit for consideration in counseling.

MP Higher Education will declare a merit list of candidates on the prescribed date, where students can check their ranking among other applicants for UG & PG admission. Note: Merit list is not a confirmation of admission; it serves for information purposes only.

The allotment of seats will be done online based on merit. Candidates can check their allotment in the ‘Check Candidate Status’ section. If satisfied with the allotted college/course, take a printout of the allotment letter.

Allotted candidates must report to the allotted institute within the scheduled time frame along with original documents and required fees for the first semester. Refer to the institute website for details of documents and fee structure. Failure to report may lead to automatic cancellation of the admission by the portal.

Important Notes:

  • Admission is based on marks in the qualifying examination (Bachelor’s degree for PG).

  • Follow updates for counseling schedules and rounds, which are published on the MP Higher Education Portal and newspapers.

  • Vacant seats after first round may be filled through subsequent counseling rounds as per instructions from the competent authority.
